Food Shelf

PROP provides a balanced, nutritious supply of food to our clients for a minimum of 4 days, so a wide variety of wholesome non-perishable food is welcome.

PROP Shop

The PROP Shop is one of our most widely used services. Clothing, household items and furniture are available to families in need by referral through human service organizations.

PROP appreciates donations of new and gently used items. We ask that donated items be clean and in good condition.

Seasonal Programs

PROP currently offers seasonal programs throughout the year:

The Garden Program: provides plants and seeds to those who wish to feed their family from their own gardening. PROP also assists with garden plot rental through the City of Eden Prairie and the City of Chanhassen's Park and Recreation program.
Time of year: April/May
Donations needed: vegetable seeds (call the PROP office for a list of most needed seeds).

The School Supply Program: provides backpack and classroom items to children at the beginning of the school year.
Time of year: July/August
Donations needed: unused backpacks and school supplies for students at all age levels (call the PROP office for a list of most needed items).

The Thanksgiving Food Program: provides food and gift certificates for a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
Time of year: November
Donations needed: Small denominations of gift cards/certificates for local grocery stores.
Nonperishable holiday foods (call the PROP office for a list of most needed items).

The Holiday Gift Program: provides gifts for children (ages 0-18) and senior citizens to assist families in celebrating their traditional holiday.
Time of year: December
Donations needed: New toys, winter clothing, gifts appropriate for teenagers and gifts for senior citizens (call the PROP office for details).

Financial Donations

Tax deductible financial donations are critically needed to support all of PROP's programs. Cash donations support general operating expenses or can be designed for specific programs.

Honorariums:

A meaningful way to show special honor to another person for a special occasion (birthday, anniversary, wedding, graduation, etc.)
PROP gratefully accepts contributions made in honor of the life and memory of loved ones who have passed away.
A special acknowledgement card is sent to the designated individual or family.

Appreciated Securities PROP also accepts gifts of appreciated securities. If you would like to contribute stocks, bonds, or mutual funds, please contact the executive director for more details.
